Cheese

All of our cheeses are 100% vegan and dairy-free. Most of our cheeses are gluten-free unless otherwise noted. Some cheeses do contain soy and most contain tree nuts. Visit the Meet the Cheeses page for the full list of ingredients and allergens as well as a nutrition panel for each cheese. Cheeses are made and stored in a kitchen that contains and processes gluten, soy, and tree nut products.

Currently, our products are not Kosher certified, however, this is definitely something we are looking into for 2024. All of our cheeses are made in our own production facility which only uses organic plant-based and dairy-free ingredients.  Please subscribe to our community, to stay updated on this and other exciting Rebel Cheese news.

Yes, all cheeses must be refrigerated and should only be removed from the refrigerator immediately before serving. Please do not leave out in warm temperatures, as the cheese may melt.

Once your cheese arrives, be sure to put it in the fridge. Please check out our cheese storage page for information on how to best store your cheese once it has been opened. 

All chèvres and fromages, as well as the terrine and fresh blue, can be frozen for up to 6 months. Please defrost in the refrigerator and consume within the number of day allotted prior to freezing.

Orders & Subscriptions

You can change your cheeses every month before your next order processes! Please note that if your order has already been paid & processed, changes cannot be made to your box.

1. Login to your account by clicking the person silhouette at the top of our Cheese Club website. Note: if you've never logged in before, you'll have to Create An Account using the email address that you used to purchase your cheese.

2. Click "Manage & edit my subscriptions"

3. Below your delivery address, click "Manage this bundle."

4. Then click the button "Update Contents."

5. Add and remove cheeses to curate your perfect box. All boxes must have a minimum of 4 cheeses. The new quantity and price will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

6. Click "Save" to secure your selection.

7. Come back next month to update your next box!

You will receive this month's lineup. Orders are based on purchase date, not shipment date.

Example: if you ordered a box on April 28th, you would receive the April cheeses even though the order would ship out in May.

You can pause, modify, or cancel your subscription at any time prior to renewal! If you have already paid for the upcoming delivery then your order has been processed and any edits you make will not be applied to that order, only future orders. Email cheeseclub@rebelcheese.com to request a change to the order and we will do our best to accommodate if the order has not already been packaged.

We do not offer substitutions to our curated boxes. If you would like a customized option, please choose the build-a-box option, where you will be able to fully customize which cheeses go into the shipment, based on offerings / availability.

We offer a variety of beloved, well-known favorites that repeat in our cheese club, along with limited-time, limited-production, and new innovation cheeses. This variety allows our members to savor the classics while trying exclusive new and small batch offerings.

The Rebel box will be discontinued by December 2023. Please check your emails if you are a current subscriber for information on how to switch to an alternative box, as well as for specific deadlines around the closing out of the Rebel box.

Shipping

You will receive a shipping notification once a shipping label has been created with a tracking number to track it's journey to you. If you have questions about your order, you can send an email to cheeseclub@rebelcheese.com. We will do our best to accommodate.

*Please note that we reserve the right to alter shipping days in the event that they fall on a holiday. Any alterations will be communicated in advance.

The shipping date for all Celebration Boxes varies and can be found on the product page where you purchased the box.

Virtual Gift Cards are just that - virtual! There is no physical gift card that ships, however, you should receive an email with redemption information upon purchase. Please forward the email with the redemption information to your recipient whenever you are ready for them to receive it!

When a shipping label for your order is created, you will receive an email containing your tracking number. Your order will ship that day or the following day.

More often than not, a single delay does not mean that your package will arrive warm. Please wait for its arrival and reach out to cheeseclub@rebelcheese.com if there are any issues with your cheese once it does arrive. Please include pictures if possible, as this will help expedite the resolution process.

If your order is still in transit days after it was due to arrive, it has likely been lost. Please reach out to cheeseclub@rebelcheese.com so that we may help to resolve the issue.

We do not currently ship outside of the Contiguous United States. However, as we continue to grow and scale our production processes we hope to ship outside the U.S. in the near future.

Since we use UPS, we can not ship to Army Post Office (APO) or FPO addresses. The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is the only delivery service that can send packages to APO, FPO or DPO locations. Even if FedEx and UPS may ship to the country where the service member is stationed, they can not deliver to APO addresses for security reasons.

Cost & Packaging

We focus on creating artisan, plant-based cheeses using traditional dairy methods with ingredients that we can stand behind. This means purchasing organic, fair trade ingredients whenever possible and using recognizable ingredients in all of our cheeses.

Many of our cheeses are hand crafted and some take weeks to properly culture and age. We truly put love into every batch!

We also work to use recyclable / compostable packaging whenever possible to minimize our environmental impact.

We are proud of these values but recognize that there is a cost that comes with them. We hope that as we continue to grow, we are able to improve efficiencies and source a larger amount of materials at a time which will offer us greater savings that we can extend to our customers.

We localize the majority of our supply chain by actively sourcing many of our shipping materials from within greater Texas. Please note, as we are testing out new packaging options, your box will only contain some of the below items.

Box & Water-Activated Paper Tape: curbside recyclable.

Cello foam Insulation: compostable (can be traditionally composted, dissolved in water, or even burned (be careful of your surroundings!).

Brown bag & liner insulation: curbside recyclable

Ice Packs: Enviro Ice is safe for pouring down a household drain or flushing in a toilet - it can also be diluted with water and used to feed your plants!  For the plastic pouch, rinse it and recycle anywhere #4 low density polyethylene plastic is accepted (please check if this is accepted curbside in your neighborhood).

Excelsior (the "straw" padding in your box): these all-natural, Great Lakes Aspen wood fibers are naturally biodegradable and can be used as a top dressing for plants, a fire starter for firepits and fireplaces, or composted.

Cheese Bags: landfill trash (due to the barrier protection required to protect the quality of the cheese, this is not recyclable. We use the thinnest amount of plastic possible through our distributor to minimize waste).

Cheese Tubs: the tubs and lids are designated as #5 polypropylene (please check if this is accepted curbside in your neighborhood). The seal should be disposed of in your regular trash.

Issue with Order

We pack your cheeses in an iced and insulated box to ensure that they arrive cold and ready to enjoy. On a rare occasion, shipping delays or extreme weather may cause your order to arrive less-than-perfect. In this case, please reach out to cheeseclub@rebelcheese.com within 72 hours so that we can resolve this issue! Please include pictures if possible, as this will help expedite the resolution process.
